PROJECTS

The brief for this project was to transform a large empty lawn into a series of different areas with different functions and styles. There is an area for growing fruit and vegetables, two large herbaceous borders, a gravel garden and a water feature. It looks especially beautiful when the wild flower meadow is in full bloom!

For this project I was asked to design a planting scheme for two large borders on either side of the garden and also for a children's play area at the bottom of the garden. For the main garden I designed a prairie style planting scheme using grasses and perennials, whilst for the children's area I chose plants with impressive foliage for a fun jungle hideaway feel. 

Woodley School and College is a brilliant special school for students with Autism in Huddersfield. I was so excited when they asked me to design their allotment for them. Work is currently under way so watch this space for updates.

This garden was beautifully situated with superb views over the countryside on one side but with the challenge of being overlooked by neighbouring houses from two other sides. The solution was to carefully position trees to provide privacy whilst orientating the seating and dining areas to maximise the view.
